Speed Note Reading Tutor - MACINTOSH

Q: The video game won't play.
A: Are you sure that you're using the version of the game that is appropriate for your computer's operating system? A version specifically from Windows operating systems is included in the "Speed Note Reading Tutor - WINDOWS" directory of this CD-ROM.

Q: I have a large monitor. Is there any way I can increase the size of the video game?
A: Absolutely! The video game was designed to be "scaleable", but is forced to open in a window that will fit all monitors.

To increase the size of the game, simply click the "maximize" button in the title bar (the green dot with the "+" on OSX, or the 1st box on the right side of the title bar in OS9)

Q: I copied the game to my hard drive, but it won't play.
A: If you'd like to keep a copy of the game on your computer, make sure that you copy the ENTIRE FOLDER to your drive - the "notelists" folder must reside in the same folder as the application.

Remember that the game is under copyright restrictions. The owner may freely use the game on as many computers as he or she likes, but you are restricted to having only ONE game running at any time (in other words, don't make copies and hand out to your friends! This keeps us from the ability to develop more games in the future).

Q: I've got some great ideas on how to improve this game!
A: So do we! Sure, we'd love to have the keys play actual pitches, be midi-compatible so that you can use a keyboard instead of the mouse, have a version for bass clef, etc. etc. Remember - this is a free game... which was included without raising the price of the book. We don't have an unlimited budget to produce a video game that rivals those which cost $20 and sell to millions of customers!
